2004 K.E.H.A. Scholarship Recipient

The winner of the 2004 K.E.H.A. Scholarship is Randa Mitchen. She is a Junior at the Haskell Indian Nations University in Lawrence. Her major is Environmental Biology, and Randa has a cumulative GPA of 3.86. Her future goals are to graduate from Haskell in the Spring of 2005, then attend UC Berkley for her Masters and Doctorate.


Kenley Kickman

2003 Scholarship Recipient

The winner of the 2003 KAS Scholarship is Kenley Hickman from Council Grove. His goal is to become a game biologist and promote and preserve the habitat of regional wildlife. He will be attending KSU this fall, majoring in Biology.

His quote, "In my mind, a perfect occupation would have something to do with working to enhance the wildlife habitats around Kansas. As a game biologist, I would love the challenge of doing my part in promoting and preserving the habitat of regional wildlife.

He was a peer roll model at his school working with the kindergarten class at the elementary school. Kenley was a member of the CVL Regional Baseball Champions, Lyndon High School Power lifting Champion. He did volunteer work at the local cemetery, painted classrooms at the Catholic Church, Teacher's Aide, participant in "Walk for Mankind and Relay for Life".


2002 - Scholarship Recipient
Amy Lynn Johnston of Olathe, KS

Amy has been involved for two years in a traveling science museum sponsored by the Faraday Society. Her focus on the museum pieces has been different qualities of light. Her goal for the future is to organize a hands-on science museum which would be open to all people interested in all fields of science. She also wants people to get past the science stigma - people sitting at lab tables all day and counting drops in test tubes. She plans on majoring in Chemistry at KSU.
